~Blowing off steam~ Friday, Sept. 09, 2005 - 7:29 AM Okay, I've been avoiding commenting on this Katrina bullshit, because in the words of my father..."Do you actually think that if we had a hurricane up here, those ppl would be watching it on t.v., and that they would give a shit?" In all truth, I know they wouldn't care. Most americans in the southern states think canadians are fucking eskimos who live in fucking igloos for christs sake! Anyway...I'm watching the local news today. My province is the first one to offer cash to the relief effort. 5 mill is going to the bush& clinton foundation....why there? "Because the red cross only deals with humanitarian issues". Fine, good on ya Ralphie boy....the province did it's part, and considering we are the richest in Canada, we can afford that. Gotta love being the major oil suppliers of canada. Now then, off to my major piss off this morning.
Why fema? Easy, a bunch of canadian fire fighters went to help, 2 guys from here came back really quick. Why? Okay, well first of all, these guys are trained in emergency medicine, with disaster training. Yadda yadda yadda. Sounds good right? You would think so. These guys went down south, were sat in a room, and were made to watch a film about sexual abuse. After that, they were handed t-shirts and hats, and FEMA was going to stick them in shelters to hand out flyers with the 1-800 number for FEMA. WHAT THE FUCK???? So, these guys looked at eachother when they realized what they were expected to do, and said "Fuck this!" They came back to Canada. They went home. Oh, they say they will happily go back to help, if they will be taken seriously, and put to work doing what they are trained for. Personally I don't blame them. You are trained in emergency medicine, in a disaster area to help, and those assholes want you to hand out fucking flyers? What the fuck is wrong with those cunts down there? The last major thing we had here was that ice storm in montreal was it? Within hours of the storm being over our military was there. Within hours! We don't fuck around up here.If ppl are in shit, we go help. There is no "senate discussion on the best way to go about it" Fuck that shit! The american government is convinced that their democracy is the best way to be. They shove it down ppls throats! Look at Iraq! The main reason of that invasion was assimilation. They needed to make Iraq like them. Hello? Anyone remember WW2? Hitler? Aryan ideals? The view of perfect ppl? Invasions of europe to assimilate them? Uh yeah. Well, let's look at this shall we? What is so fucking great about a democracy that takes that gov't days to pull their heads out of their asses just to get help to ppl who are drowning, and starving? The only fucking thing that gov't knows how to do, is declare states of emergency, and photo op's of shaking the hands of the homeless. And what does Bush say? "I didn't realize anything went wrong with the relief effort" Glad to know you poor fucking americans have someone in charge who is paying attention. I'd hate to see what would happen if he wasn't. An finally.....what is the point of trying to make yourself look like a good guy by offering 52 billion dollars, of cash the country doesn't have in the first place, to the relief and rebuilding effort when there is no form of uniformity in ths relief, and the money will end up being lost to greedy fucks anyway. Did I mention Fidel Castro has 1500 doctors who are ready to deploy to the states in an instant...cuba being the country with fastest response to hurricane relief...did I mention the states turned him down? HELP US! HELP US! EWWWW NO, NOT YOU GUYS! Anyone hear that the cold war is over? Yeah....calling the ppl of new orleans refugees, taking forever to get help to them, leaving many to die. You try to tell me race wasn't a factor you racist texan momma boy hick! Fuck am I glad I'm Canadian! We may have colder winters, but I will happily give up that heat for a country that isn't run like a dictatorship! These useless american politicians need to start acting like the representatives of the people that they are supposed to be. Either that, or stop the "poor us" bullshit.
